AUSTIN, TEXAS – Oct. 15, 2013 – Hotels for Hope, the Austin, Texas-based hotel brokerage company, today announced its partnership with Clean the World, the social enterprise that distributes recycled soap and hygiene products from hospitality partners to children and families in countries suffering from high death rates due to the top two killers of children – acute respiratory infection and diarrheal diseases.
Clean the World joins Hotels for Hope’s current list of charitable partner organizations that focus on humanitarian aid. Through the partnership, Clean the World will benefit from Hotels for Hope’s model for giving, which contributes $2 for every room night stay to charitable partner organizations that seek to help children live happier and healthier lives. Announcing the partnership today is significant because this is Global Handwashing Day. The worldwide celebration aims to raise awareness about the benefits of washing hands with soap.
“We are thrilled to partner with Clean the World,” Hotels for Hope founder, Neil Goldman said. “By aligning with other entities within the hospitality industry that are focused on the advancement of human welfare, we are making great strides toward our goal of changing the way the industry as a whole operates and advancing social responsibility. The partnership with Clean the World provides a unique opportunity to make a positive impact both locally and across the globe.”
Hotels for Hope will also serve as the hotel booking engine for Clean the World’s hospitality partners at www.cleantheworld.org. This allows Clean the World’s nearly 2,000 hospitality partners to be prominently featured so consumers may easily and intentionally book rooms at hotels that partner with Clean the World. Hotels for Hope will donate $2 for every room night stay to Clean the World. Each donation will pay for a hygiene kit through Clean the World’s ONE Project, which provides much-needed hygiene supplies to the homeless and families in transition throughout North America.
“Hotels for Hope’s concept of turning room nights into social change is perfectly in line with our mission,” said Shawn Seipler, founder and executive director of Clean the World. “With support from the hospitality industry, we can dramatically reduce hygiene-related deaths simply by giving people soap and proper education on how and when to use the soap. This partnership will directly benefit Clean the World through financial contributions, and also provide indirect benefits by driving business to our hospitality partners.”
To date, Hotels for Hope has donated more than $200k to its charitable partners. For more information or to book rooms, visit www.hotelsforhope.org.
